On behalf of the Deep Creek Central PTA, I would like to welcome all of our families back for the 2011-2012 school year! We are looking forward to this coming year. PTA has been busy planning our family nights and programs for both parents and students.

As parents, it is extremely important to be involved in our children's education. PTA is a vital link between home, school and community. It is the largest child advocacy volunteer group in America and speaks on behalf of children who cannot affect change for themselves. The PTA's budget is based solely on membership dues, school-wide fundraisers and tax-deductible donations. I encourage you to become an active participant in our school and community by becoming a member of DCCE PTA! Membership in PTA allows parents to have a stronger voice in how PTA funds are allocated, what kinds of fundraisers and events are planned and how to best support our school. Another benefit of PTA membership comes in the form of discounts from places such as T-Mobile, Sharp, and OfficeMax just to name a few! Please consider joining PTA today!

We are always in need of volunteers on many levels. Without our generous volunteers, events like our Hotdogs and Hoedown, Breakfast with Santa, and Family Nights would not be possible. We have volunteer opportunities for every time and commitment level - there is always something to fit every schedule. Please check out the volunteer form to see what best fits your needs. With time, talent and monetary support, DCCE families help PTA accomplish great things for the students, teachers and families of Deep Creek. This year, the PTA has provided the student agendas for grades 1-5, help support and/or coordinate wonderful programs including Reflections, Science Fair, the CREEK, the talent show and more!

SGet ready for great time!  On Friday, October 28, we will be serving a meal of a hotdog, chips, and drink for $3 (or $4 for 2 hotdogs) followed by an evening of line and square dancing.  Dinner begins at 6:00 and dancing will begin at 6:30. We have a professional caller, Bob Worley from Crown Records, coming to host the event.  This is a prepay/pre-register event.  You do not have to attend the dinner to attend the hoedown.
