As the 2007-2008 school year begins here at Deep Creek Central Elementary, I would like to take this time to welcome our new students as well as our returning students and their families.

I am grateful to have this chance to represent our PTA this year. I am looking forward to working with the students, teachers, parents and staff to do whatever it takes to make our PTA a great success this year. The PTA sponsors many wonderful events throughout the school year: Family Fun Night, An Ice Cream Social, Dads Night Out, the Scholastic Book Fair, these are just to name a few. These events are a wonderful way for our students, teachers, and families to come together and support each other and also have a great time.

I have been involved with DCCE and the PTA for 6 years now and have enjoyed each year of that time. I have seen the PTA do many wonderful things for the students and have loved being a part of that. As your PTA President, I encourage each of you to consider joining the PTA, your help truly does make a difference. I also encourage each of you to volunteer your time if you can, even a small amount of volunteering can help. With your support, I know this school year at DCCE will be a great success.
